Unlike pre-cast panels, tilt-up construction allows for the construction of the walls on-site, in project specific slabs, formed for that specific job.
Having the panels created on site, enables site specific needs and/or restrictions to be incorporated within the project with ease. In addition to that, no time is lost when moving or transporting panels from a casting site to the construction site.
On-site construction of panels also allows for maximum slab sizes and minimum numbers of joints between panel walls. When walls are ready to be lifted into position, a crane, best suited to the size and scope of the job, is brought in and the panels are then raised into position, forming the building’s perimeter and external walls.
The penultimate advantage of tilt-up construction is that it provides greater flexibility in the style and size possible for commercial and industrial buildings while minimising construction costs and construction time compared to that of more traditional block/masonry type projects.
